Q1. WHAT IS AIRBRUSH TANNING?

Airbrush tanning, also known as sunless tanning, is a procedure through which a DHA based solution is sprayed on the skin, using an airbrush gun. When the airbrush tanning solution is applied to the skin, a safe, sunless tan develops that looks natural and original.

The Airbrush tanning solutions contain dihydroxyacetone (DHA), which is an ingredient approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). When the DHA reacts with the natural amino acids in the top layer of the skin, it produces a sunless golden-bronze tan. The pigments resulting from a spray tan however, do not provide the UV protection.

The deepest tan color is reached within 12 hours of the tanning, and the color continues to get dark after the initial application. The tanning solutions also have a bronzer that provides an instant tan effect. This instant color ensures an even coverage. Most of the added bronzer comes off in the first shower after the application. This is the color that is produced by the DHA when it reacts with the skin.

Q2. HOW IS THIS METHOD DIFFERENT FROM SPRAY TANNING BOOTHS?

The only difference between the Spray Booths and Airbrush Tanning is that the latter allows a more personalized application of the solution. Otherwise, it uses the same basic type of solution used in the spray booths! More solution can be added to the areas like bridge of the cheekbone, nose and shoulders.

As the tanning solution is applied by your own personal technician, there will remain no “missed” spots or uneven areas that otherwise can be left unnoticed, as the solution application is constantly monitored and controlled.

Q3. IS AIRBRUSH TANNING SAFE?

100% safe. Dihydroxyacetone has been approved by FDA for use in the personal care industry for more than thirty years now. Other than minor skin irritations on highly allergic people no harsh or adverse effects have been reported with Airbrush tanning. However, the allergic reactions are extremely rare and can be eliminated by simple showering.

Q4. WHAT ABOUT ALLERGIC REACTIONS?

Though the rate of allergic reactions is very less, it is advisable to take caution if you have a hypersensitive skin, or are allergic to sunless-tanning products. Please check with your physician prior to using this or any sunless tanning product. We have heard very few reports of reactions of any sort, but please be safe.

Q5. WHAT SHOULD YOU DO TO PREPARE FOR A SPRAY TANNING SESSION?

For best results, the skin should be neat and clean, and free from all kind of moisturizers, make-up and deodorants. Any kind of lotion or make-up may block the pores and prevent the tanning solution from reaching the skin. On the night prior to the session, or on that very morning, please take a shower using mild, non-moisturizing gel soap. It is also advised to take caution while conditioning the hair, while making sure that the conditioner does not get on the skin. This could cause a blockade between the tanning solution and skin. You can also use a non-oil based exfoliant gel.

Q6. WHAT DO I WEAR?

We advise the clients to wear loose fitting clothes while coming to for tanning. Jeans are a strict no while you are coming for the session! We also advise to wear flip-flops or light sandals rather than shoes and socks. Many clients also like to get tanned in old swimming attire or dark colored undergarments. You can also purchase disposables from your technician as an alternative, while we also permit nude or topless tanning if you are over 18. It all depends whether you want tan lines or not. We have a completely professional staff!

Q7. HOW LONG DOES A TANNING SESSION TAKE?

Because we use high-volume-low-pressure turbine spray gun, it takes around 15 minutes to apply the spray. The drying time is much less than that of airbrushing. It is imperative that the solution dries on the skin before you put on the clothes. This is to avoid removing the solution from the skin.

Q8. HOW DARK WILL I GET?

You will get a remarkable color from just one session! Each client is judged based on their natural skin tone and a solution is selected just for them. We do not provide a solution which we know will make your tan look unnatural. If you are extremely fair skinned, do not be disheartened! Your skin can also be tanned in equal measures.

Q9. I USUALLY BREAK OUT IN FRECKLES WHEN I TRY TO TAN. WILL THE TANNING SOLUTION MAKE MY FRECKELS COME OUT TOO?

No. There is nothing in the tanning solution that will cause more freckles to break out. Rather, in most of the cases, blemishes become less visible as the lighter skin areas get darken and reduce the color differentiation between the blemishes and rest of your skin.

Q10. WILL MY SKIN TURN ORANGE?

No, it will turn golden. The formula that we use has been specially made to produce a balanced tan without an orange tint. It delivers a natural looking, golden tan. The skin turns orange when the excessive quantity of the DHA tanning agent is applied to the skin.

Q11. WILL THE COLOR RUB OFF ON CLOTHES?

A little of the bronzer may come off on your clothes until you take a shower. But don’t worry! All this is water soluble and will wash out easily. However, we strictly recommend to avoid leather, suede, silk and synthetics.

Q12. HOW LONG BEFORE I CAN SHOWER OR WORKOUT?

At least 8 hours before showering or working out. This allows your tan to develop better. Many people even wait till the next morning to shower. The longer you wait, the darker will be your tan. It will also last for a longer time!

Q13. HOW LONG WILL MY TAN LAST?

It lasts around 7-10 days, along with proper moisturization and maintenance. It will also fad away naturally. A spray tan fades just like a tan from the sun! This also depends on the individual's rate of exfoliation and the quality of the tanning solution.

Q14. HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN YOUR SPRAY TAN?

Apply the moisturizer daily after the first post-tan shower. Hydrated skin is essential in maintaining a longer lasting tan. To maximize the results, the client should use a tan extending moisturizer and drink plenty of water. The client should also try to avoid any contact with harsh chemicals that will strip the skin of its beautiful new color.

Please remember that airbrush tanning by no means protect your skin from the sun! Hence we highly recommend the use of sun screen to protect the health of your skin!

The main benefit of the sunless tanning is the protection that it offers to your skin. Traditional tanning methods like laying out in the sun, or using a tanning bed can cause harsh damage to your skin because each time your skin is exposed to Ultra Violet rays, you increase the chances of developing skin cancer.

The rate of skin cancer grows each year, due to the harmful UV exposure. It is estimated that 7,000 people die from skin cancer every year. According to WebMD, about 50,000 new cases of melanoma skin cancer are brought up in the United States yearly as well! In addition, the sun damage also causes wrinkles to develop prematurely.

Q16. DOES IT HURT TO GET AN AIRBRUSH TATTOO?

This is one of the most commonly asked questions asked by our clients. The answer is a BIG NO! We do not use any needles, and therefore the experience is painless. Yes it may tickle you a little! ;)

Q17. HOW LONG DOES AN AIRBRUSH TATTOO LAST?

From a few days to one week. Besides that, Temporary Airbrush Tattoos paints and inks dry instantly and are water resistant. They can also be removed instantly with isopropyl alcohol. The duration of these tattoos depends mainly on how well they are taken care of.

Q18. HOW DO YOU TAKE CARE OF THE AIRBRUSH TATTOO?

• Powder after bathing and before sleeping.
• Pat dry after bathing or swimming.
• Avoid direct contact with oils, lotion, or soap.
• Keep tight fitting clothing from rubbing on tattoo.
• Do not shave over tattoo.?
• Do not rub or scrub tattoo, pat or air dry tattooed area.

Q19. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PAINT A DESIGN?

Just around 5 minutes for the entire process!

Q20. IS THIS HENNA?

No! Henna is a kind of ink that stains the skin. Our Airbrush tattoos do not stain your skin at all! They rather sit on the top of your skin and can be removed immediately.

Q21. IS IT SAFE?

All the body paints are made with FDA approved non-toxic ingredients. One ingredient that can possibly be irritating can be Alcohol, though we never heard of any problems with any of our tattoos!

Q22. HOW DOES AIRBRUSH MAKEUP WORK?

Airbrush makeup is sprayed on through an airbrush gun as a fine mist of color that covers the skin gently, and gives the appearance of a flawless complexion. Spraying microdots of makeup on the face looks more natural than the traditional makeup because it is not rubbed into the skin and does not open the pores more. Airbrush makeup allows the Airbrush makeup to conceal better, while it enables your skin to breathe better!

Q23. HOW IS AIRBRUSH MAKEUP DIFFERENT?

Traditional foundations look fake. They look very caked-on and thick and heavy. Airbrush makeup is different. It leaves a light blend of color over the skin and creates the illusion of a perfect face because it is misted on. This allows your true skin tone to show through without covering your face. The mixing of foundation colors for individual custom blends unsurpassed, and results in a more natural and genuine look that covers skin imperfections.

Q24. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF AIRBRUSH MAKEUP?

As the Airbrush makeup is water-resistant, there comes no problem with perspiration or tears. The make up can even last over 24 hours! Airbrush makeup will not fade off, and can be easily washed away with soap and water.

Q25. WHAT PRODUCTS ARE AIRBRUSHED?

Foundation, blush and eye shadow. The whole face can be made up with Airbrush products, or embodied with traditional looking cosmetic eye shadows and blush.

Q26. DOES AIRBRUSH MAKEUP NEED TO BE TOUCHED UP?

Once the Airbrush makeup is sprayed on, it dries immediately to become a matte finish, and does not even require powder or re-applying to remain the make-up intact.

Q27. WILL AIRBRUSH MAKEUP LOOK NATURAL IN PICTURES AND ON VIDEO?

Absolutely! It creates the right look on or off camera. It appears natural-looking in a person, whether on-screen or off-screen because it reduces shine and provides the right amount of coverage- without all those heavy makeup layers!

Q28. CAN AIRBRUSH MAKEUP COVER ANY SKIN IMPREFECTION?

Yes- all of them! The wide array of colors and the Airbrush techniques allow our artist to cover any skin imperfection! Whether they are scars, bruises, tan lines, birthmarks, Rosacea, Psoriasis, Vitiligio, tattoos or even redness- all can be hidden completely.

Q29. IS AIRBRUSH MAKEUP RIGHT FOR EVERYONE?

Yes! Women virtually of any age can benefit from an Airbrush makeup application! Even men can reap the benefits of Airbrush Makeup. Airbrush makeup is hypoallergenic and oil-free, so it is safe for even the most sensitive skin types! No matter what your age, skin tone or the condition of your skin- you can apply Airbrush Makeup.

Q30. IS THE COLOR PERMANENT?

Not really. You can get instant highlights with airbrush hair highlights, but not a permanent hair color. The color can be washed out instantly. The color is 100% safe to use, and does not damage permanently colored hair.

Q31. WILL THE COLOR AFFECT MY PRETREATED HAIR?

Not al all. We have colors that have been developed by Su-Do in Europe in alliance with a top L'Oreal®-accredited salon. Hence the colors are accurate and conform to professional color consulting charts.

We have more than 15 natural shades to choose from. This gives a perfect example of how a permanent color treatment will look like.

Q32. HOW LONG DOES THE AIRBRUSH HIGHLIGHT LAST?

The airbrush hair highlights will be cleaned away completely after the first wash! They are temporary and very easy to clean. As soon as you feel your hair have got dirty and you need to remove the color, just give it a shampoo and it will be done!

Q33. Can the airbrush highlight color cover gray hair?

Yes 100%! As the airbrush hair color is being applied with an airbrush, it covers the entire scalp and allows for full coverage.
